digital power amplifiers, driving 21 ‘sound beam’ drivers
and two woofers. With its chic, sleek styling, the YSP-800 perfectly
complements any flat screen or plasma display. Unique Yamaha
Cinema DSP delivers breathtaking multi-channel cinematic surround
sound from a single unit, bringing all the excitement of the
big screen to the living room. And a single cable connection
combined with the single button set-up makes light work of installation
and configuration. IntelliBeam ensures optimum multi-channel
set-up by constant and precise monitoring and analysis of sound
output via the supplied plug in microphone.

The YSP-800 applies
sophisticated Digital Sound Projector™ Technology to
precisely control the orientation of the sound by focusing
it into beams. The sound is both direct and reflected off the
walls so the listener hears sound from the front, sides and
back. The result is true multi-channel surround sound that
sounds just like a multi-speaker system — without the
need for extra speakers!
Flat panel LCD and plasma monitors are becoming very popular, but
many people wish they could also have thin speakers, rather than
the usual boxes to the front and sides. The YSP-800 has a compact,
slim profile and is a perfect match for flat screens everywhere.
Yamaha’s exclusive IntelliBeam automatic calibration system
ensures optimum multi-channel reproduction. By monitoring the sound
with a built-in microphone and analysing it, IntelliBeam automatically
sets the best beam angles and optimises the level and frequency response
of each beam. This makes initial setup both extremely simple and
acoustically perfect.
Yamaha’s ultrasophisticated Tri-Field CINEMA DSP technology
creates thrillingly realistic soundscapes in your room. Three CINEMA
DSP programs are available (Movie, Music and Sports) and the YSP-800
is compatible with Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Pro Logic II (Movie,
Music and Game) and DTS Neo:6 (Cinema and Music) sound formats.
